What Makes a Pallet Grade A?
A Grade A pallet has been through our rigorous inspection process and meets the highest standards for structural integrity, dimensional accuracy, and cosmetic appearance. These pallets have either been used only once or twice, or they are in such good condition after careful use that they are functionally equivalent to new pallets.
Grade A pallets have no repaired or replaced boards. Every deck board, stringer, and block is original, securely fastened, and free from significant damage. The wood surface is clean — no heavy staining, mold, chemical residue, or contamination. Nails are flush-driven with no protrusions, and overall dimensions fall within a tight 1/4-inch tolerance.
This level of quality is essential for operations that rely on automated material handling equipment, such as automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS), conveyor-fed palletizers, and robotic pick-and-place systems. These machines require pallets with precise, consistent dimensions to function reliably. A pallet that is even slightly out of spec can cause jams, mis-feeds, and expensive downtime.

When Grade A Is the Right Choice
Automated Warehouses
Automated storage and retrieval systems, conveyor lines, and robotic palletizers demand exact dimensional consistency. A single out-of-spec pallet can halt an entire automated line. Grade A pallets meet the tight tolerances these systems require.
Food & Pharmaceutical
FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) guidelines and pharmaceutical cGMP regulations require pallets to be clean, free from contamination, and structurally sound. Grade A pallets meet these standards without the cost of buying new.
International Export
When your pallets represent your brand at an overseas destination, appearance matters. Grade A pallets with ISPM-15 heat treatment certification arrive looking professional and compliant with international phytosanitary regulations.
Premium Retail Distribution
Major retailers increasingly audit inbound pallet quality. Grade A pallets ensure your loads pass inspection at receiving docks, avoiding chargebacks, rejections, and delayed deliveries that cost far more than the pallet itself.
The Grade A Price Advantage
Grade A recycled pallets typically cost 20 to 30 percent less than brand-new pallets of the same size and type. For a business shipping 500 pallets per month, that difference adds up to thousands of dollars in annual savings — without compromising on quality, performance, or compliance.
The savings come from our efficient recycling operation: we collect, sort, and inspect pallets from hundreds of businesses across the greater Phoenix area. Pallets that meet Grade A standards go directly back into circulation with minimal processing cost, passing those savings on to you.
