What Makes a Pallet Grade C?
A Grade C pallet has been through multiple use cycles and shows it. These pallets have visible repairs — multiple replaced deck boards, companion boards reinforcing cracked stringers, and surface weathering consistent with extended outdoor exposure. They may have mismatched board colors, varying board widths, and cosmetic imperfections that would disqualify them from higher grades.
Despite their appearance, Grade C pallets are structurally functional. Every pallet in our Grade C inventory has been inspected and repaired to ensure it can safely support its rated load capacity. Cracked stringers are reinforced with companion boards. Broken deck boards are replaced. Protruding nails are driven flush. The pallet may not look pretty, but it does the job it needs to do.
Grade C pallets are the most economical option in our recycled inventory. They are ideal for operations where the pallet is a disposable transport medium — one-way shipments where the pallet stays at the receiving end, temporary staging and storage, construction site material handling, and any situation where you need a pallet today at the lowest possible cost.

When Grade C Is the Right Choice
One-Way Shipments
When you are shipping product to a customer or destination where the pallet will not be returned, Grade C delivers the load protection you need at the lowest possible cost. There is no point paying for a premium pallet that will never come back to you.
Temporary & Outdoor Storage
Staging areas, outdoor yards, job site material storage, and seasonal overflow inventory do not require pristine pallets. Grade C pallets handle these temporary applications perfectly and can be recycled again when the job is done.
Construction Sites
Building materials, drywall, lumber bundles, and concrete bags ship on pallets that take serious abuse on construction sites. Grade C pallets absorb this rough handling at a price point that makes them economically disposable.
Export Without Return
When shipping internationally to destinations where the pallet stays with the customer, Grade C with ISPM-15 heat treatment is the most cost-effective option. The pallet serves its purpose and becomes part of the destination country's wood supply chain.
High-Volume Operations
Distribution centers and manufacturers moving thousands of pallets per month can realize massive savings by using Grade C for non-critical loads. Even a few dollars per pallet adds up to significant annual savings at high volume.
Landscaping & DIY Projects
Grade C pallets are the go-to source for DIY enthusiasts, garden projects, rustic furniture builds, and creative upcycling. The character and patina of well-used pallet wood adds authentic charm that new wood cannot replicate.
The Grade C Cost Advantage
Grade C pallets typically cost 40 to 60 percent less than equivalent new pallets. For a standard 48x40 GMA pallet, that can mean savings of $4 to $8 per pallet compared to buying new. A company shipping 1,000 pallets per month could save $48,000 to $96,000 annually by using Grade C where appropriate.
The smartest approach is a mixed-grade strategy: use Grade A for automated systems and premium applications, Grade B for general warehouse needs, and Grade C for one-way and disposable uses. Our team can help you analyze your pallet usage and build a grade allocation plan that maximizes savings without compromising performance where it matters.

Grade C Pallets: The Greenest Choice
Grade C pallets represent the maximum possible extension of wood fiber life. Every Grade C pallet we sell is a pallet that would otherwise be sent to a landfill or chipped for mulch. By choosing Grade C, you are squeezing every last mile of useful life from lumber that was harvested years — sometimes decades — ago. That is sustainability in its most practical form.
